The world continues to mourn the loss of Prince Markie Dee, the famed rapper from the legendary group The Fat Boys. AllHipHop has exclusively learned that the rapper born Mark Anthony Morales, likely died of congestive heart failure.
He was 52 at the time of his death and today, February 19th, would’ve been his 53rd birthday.
Sources with AllHipHop have revealed that Marky Dee had experienced some distressing health issues yesterday, most namely the swelling in the legs. He felt according to sources unwell and he was rushed to the hospital, where he eventually passed. He was pronounced dead at the hospital so suddenly that his closest friends and family did not know initially. His mother, however, reportedly flew to Miami immediately upon learning of his health circumstance.
Louis “Uncle Louie” Gregory, one of Markie Dee’s closes friends, expressed his anguish over the death of the Hip-Hop legend. ##>##>##>##>
“Forever in my Heart. Prince Markie Dee was more than a rapper; he was one of my very best and closest friends. My heart breaks today because I lost a brother. I’ll always love you Mark and I’ll cherish everything you taught me. Tomorrow is your birthday, swing my way big bro,” he said.
Scores of fans, friends, and family sent in their condolences and recollected memories about the Legendary Brooklyn Emcee. Prince Markie Dee was beloved and the flowers poured. “I hope there is Twitter in heaven,” Uncle Louie told AllHipHop.

Dee had a daily show on SiriusXM’s Rock the Bells and the company sent a Twitter message of love and respect as well. “The Rock The Bells family is heartbroken to learn of the passing of Mark ‘Prince Markie Dee’ Morales earlier today. That voice and his presence can never be replaced. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones.”
